32nd Istanbul Film Festival programme announced

    The 32nd Istanbul Film Festival, organised by the Istanbul Foundation of Culture and Arts (İKSV) under the sponsorship of Akbank, Turkey’s biggest cinema event with 150.000 followers each year, begins on 30 March.

    The 32nd Istanbul Film Festival, sponsored by Akbank for the ninth time, will be held from 30 March to 14 April. The Istanbul Film Festival keeping its leading position with the variety and quality of the films presented promises two whole weeks full of a film programme to cinephiles with more than 200 films under more than 20 sections, panels, workshops and master classes with expert film makers.

    The festival will meet the audience this year with a wide spectrum selection expanding new feature films of 2012 and 2013, unforgettable classics, latest works of master directors, films premiered in Sundance in January and in Berlinale in February, National and International Golden Tulip and FACE Competitions to documentaries and children films. The festival programme includes a new section titled “Stories of Women” as well as “From Literature to Silver Screen” section which returns after a long break, and special sections such as “Am I Not A Citizen? – Barbarism, Civic Awakening And The City” in collaboration with the 13th Istanbul Biennial to start in September and “Reality is a Miracle: Carlos Reygadas”. Meetings on the Bridge, anticipated by the film industry each year, will be held for the eighth time within the scope of the festival.

    The programme ofthe 32nd Istanbul Film Festival was announcedon Monday, 4 March at the press meeting held in Martı Istanbul Hotel with the participation of İKSV General Manager Görgün Taner, Akbank General Manager Hakan Binbaşgil and Istanbul Film Festival Director Azize Tan.
