Black Nights teams up with Tallinn Music Week to present best of Estonian Film Music

Estonia has many world renowned composers like Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, Sven Grünberg to name but a few. Pärt’s work has been used extensively in international film productions, lately the “Grande Bellezza”, one of the most successful European films in 2013.

Black Nights and Tallinn Music Week in cooperation with Estonian Music Development Centre offer an extensive film-music day at Industry@Tallinn on Tuesday, 25th November.

The film music seminar presents Estonian composers to international film makers and gives a chance to learn the trick of the trade from Rebecca Edwards, Head of Film & TV Licensing, Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia AB, music supervisor Rasmus Thord and award winning (film)music producer Michael Pärt.

Be part of presentations, discussions and speed-dating of composers, producers and potential clients! Take the rare opportunity to visit Arvo Pärt Centre (by invitation)!

The highlight of the day is the film music showcase event at the legendary first studio of Estonian Public Broadcasting, the venue of thousands of film music recordings. The Black Nights Film Festival has joined forces with international music showcase festival Tallinn Music Week and Estonian Film Cluster for the third time to present talented Estonian composers and songwriters to international film industry. The showcase includes a concert by Georg Ots Music School symphony orchestra, Avarus Group and ETV Girls Choir, music by Pärt Uusberg, Ardo Ran Varres, Janek Murd, Vaiko Eplik and others.

The studio will be refurbished soon after today’s showcase to be back in business with world-class recording facilities as a new platform for film music production.
