Written by one of Azerbaijani cinema’s young and successful directors, Asif Rustamov, and directed by Ilgar Najaf, Pomegranate Orchard is a loose adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. While the film focuses on the troubles and sorrow derived by the reunion of a shattered family, the pastoral beauty of the film location is reflected through Ayhan Salar’s camera.
