The script written by Tonia Mishiali together with Anna Fotiadou tells the story of Elpida, a middle-aged housewife, who finds herself in an oppressing marriage with a man who has no consideration for her needs. The film focuses on the time when Elpida is going through menopause and deals with its biological and psychological changes. But Elpida’s daily routine is interrupted when a young painter is hired to paint the building she lives in.
Stela Fyrogeni, Andreas Vassiliou and Popi Avraam play the main characters.
Mishaili often concentrates on these kinds of issues in her films as she loves “making films that deal with women’s and social issues,” as she told FNE.
The film, which has a budget of 315,000 EUR, is produced by A.B. Seahorse Film Productions from Cyprus in coproduction with Soul Productions and Authorwavefrom Greece. The Ministry of Education and Culture from Cyprus is supporting, together with the Greek film centre and SEE cinema network.
