A Finale Plzen main competition slot goes to the low-budget road movie Twosome directed by Jaroslav Fuit.
A young Czech couple find their relationship tested on a trip to Denmark when everything goes wrong. Eventually they meet up with a drifter with a hidden agenda and a questionable sense of right and wrong.
The film was produced by Lenka Cintalanova on a budget of CZK 4 million with CZK 950,000 in state funding and CZK 2 million from HBO CR. The producing team includes Ondrej Zach for HBO CR (www.hbo.cz) produced and Fuit.
"We have been producing documentaries for some time," Zach told FNE, "and then this opportunity came up." The film is HBO CR's first foray into feature film production.Palace Pictures (www.palacepictures.net) distributes the 89-minute film. The film premiered in Czech cinemas on December 10, 2009, and had one exclusive screening on HBO.
Twosome is the feature debut for 35-year-old Fuit, who also wrote the screenplay together with Richard Malatinsky.
