Mur by Dariusz Glazer Mur by Dariusz Glazer

WARSAW: Dariusz Glazer starts shooting his debut drama with Mur (Wall) starring Tomasz Schuchardt on 8 October 2013 in Warsaw.

The film is the third feature film production from Munk Studio, operating under the Polish Filmmakers Association, following Fear of Falling by Bartosz Konopka in 2011 and Women's Day by Maria Sadowska in 2012.

Mur is a story of a young man who climbs over the proverbial wall, leaving his family home in a luxury apartment building in order to become more independent, only to find that the reality of everyday life is not as exciting and easy-going as he expected.

Glazer co-authored the script of the award-winng drama Christening directed by Marcin Wrona. His scripts have also been awarded at the Hartley-Merrill competition and Script Pro. His short feature debut Podróż was also produced by Munk Studio as part of the "30-minutes" programme, a showcase for young Polish filmmakers. The shoot continues to the end of October. The producers would not confirm the film’s budget.

Schuchhardt received the Best Supporting Actor Prize two years in a row for The Christening and You Are God by Leszek Dawid. The cast includes Aleksandra Konieczna and Marta Nieradkiewicz, who won the Best Supporting Actress at the 37th Gdynia Film Festival for Floating Skyscrapers directed by Tomasz Wasilewski. The DoP is Berlinale Silver Bear winner Wojciech Staroń.
