    WARSAW: Danish director Mads Matthiensen is filming on his second feature, a Danish-Polish coproduction entitled The Model.

    Matthiensen, highly praised for his debut drama Teddy Bear, launched the second part of the shoot in Warsaw after completing scenes shot in Paris. The crew will work in Warsaw until the end of November 2014.

    The Model is a drama about the life and career of Emmy, a young model who tries to make it in the business. While she waits for her big break she finds herself entangled in a toxic relationship with a fashion photographer Shane White and a fellow model Zosia. The leading role is played by Maria Palm Lyduch, a model from Denmark with Polish ancestry. The cast includes Game of Thrones star Ed Skrein and Charlotta Tomaszewska, a Polish model making her film debut.

    The film is produced by Jonas Bagger and his company Zentropa Entertainments 10 in coproduction with Polish-based Ole Wendorff-Østergaard from Sputnik Film and Zentropa International Poland as well as Madeleine Ekman of Zentropa International Sweden in co-operation with Film and Väst. The film received development financing from the EU MEDIA Program and financial support from the Polish Film Institiute as well as the Danish Film Institiute and TV2 Denmark. International sales are managed by TrustNordisk.
