Polish series sold to Denmark

    Danish public broadcaster DR (www.dr.dk) bought rights to show two TV series from Polish commercial broadcaster TVN: Odwróceni (Turned) and Naznaczony (Marked).

    Odwróceni (Turned) is a show focused on the Polish mafia and the world of organized crime. The main characters are a member of the infamous Polish mafia from Pruszków and a policeman, both entangled in a dangerous game between their two worlds. The show was produced by TVN (www.tvn.pl)in 2006 and aired in Poland in 2007 to critical praise. The cast includes popular Polish film and television actors Robert Więckiewicz, Artur Żmijewski and Małgorzata Foremniak.

    Naznaczony (Marked) is one of the biggest and most expensive productions made in Poland, a fantasy thriller about a man forced to run with his family from an enemy from his past. The show was produced by TVN in 2007 and aired in 2009. Marked has already been successfully aired in the Czech Republic and Russia. The lead roles were played by Piotr Adamczyk and Anna Dereszowska.

    Both shows were were nominated for by the Global Television Festival Rose D'or (www.rosedor.com), Turned in 2008 and Marked in 2010. This year Turned won Best Direction and Best Music at the Roma Fiction Fest (www.romafictionfest.it) and nominated at the Monte Carlo TV Festival (www.tvfestival.com).
