Five producers from Central Europe are among the 12 European and 12 Canadian producers selected to participate in European Film Promotion's (EFP) Producers Lab Toronto.
The EFP (www.efp-online.com) workshop runs 7-10 September 2011 within the framework of the Toronto IFF. The participants are independent producers with potential European-Canadian coproduction projects. Each of the European participants was previously selected for EFP's Producers on the Move, taking place in Cannes.
"For us, Producers Lab Toronto is a perfect follow-up of
our programme in Cannes," Renate Rose, EFP managing director, said it a statement. "It
gives access to talent and financial sources outside of Europe and facilitates
global exchange and international collaboration. The feedback from last year's
group underscored the mandate of this networking platform. A first co-production
contract was sealed and many very concrete projects are being discussed at this
time with contracts about to be signed."
The Central European participants are:
Daniel Mitulescu, Strada Film - Romania;
Ieva Norviliené, Tremora - Lithuania;
Viktória Petrányi, Proton Cinema - Hungary;
Riina Sildos, Amrion Production - Estonia; and
Karla Stojáková, Axman Production - Czech Republic.
