FNE at Berlinale 2016: Cottbus Brunch Awards and Photos

BERLIN: FilmFestival Cottbus and Connecting Cottbus handed out two prizes during its annual Berlinale Brunch held at the Representation Building of the Federal State of Brandenburg in Berlin. Young film and theatre producer Marija Dimitrova from Macedonia was awarded a Gesellschaft zur Wahrnehmung von Film- und Fernsehrechten (GWFF) grant endowed with 4,500 EUR euro to study abroad.

Connecting Cottbus also awarded a prize. The Special Pitch Award went to Dalibor Matanic from Croatia. Last year, the director won the Main Prize of the 25th FilmFestival Cottbus with his film The High Sun. The award is combined with an invitation to CoCo in 2016. The High Sun (Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia) was produced by Kinorama in coproduction with Gustav Film and supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), the Slovenian Film Centre and Viba Film Ljubljana

The 26th edition of FilmFestival Cottbus and CoCo will take place from 8 to 13 November 2016 and a special focus on Cuba is planned.
