Domestic is a realistic tragicomedy about people who eat the animals they love and animals that love people unconditionally, a subject the director previously developed in its short films Colivia/The Cage and Lord.
Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and 4 Proof Film (www.4prooffilm.ro) are producing with German coproducer company unafilm (www.unafilm.de) and Titus Kreyenberg. The budget is 732,834 euro. The project is supported by the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro), the Romanian public television (www.tvr.ro), HBO (www.hbo.ro), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH (www.medienboard.de).
The shooting will take place in Bucharest between 3 November and 7 December 2011. Sitaru wrote the script. Adrian Silişteanu is the DOP. The main actors are Adrian Titieni, Clara Vodă, George Ifrim and Ioana Flora. There is no sales agent yet. The premiere is set for autumn 2012.
