By Iulia Blaga

CLUJ-NAPOCA: In his 173 min independent documentary A Dream's Merchant, Bogdan Ilie-Micu follows the young photographer Mihai Barbu as he travels by motorcycle from Romania to Mongolia, traversing 26,000 km and 13 countries in four months (mongolia.ro) in 2009.

Un gând, un vis, Doyle... şi-un pix/ A Dream's Merchant was written by Barbu and Ilie-Micu. Adrian Grigorescu was the DOP. The film was shot between December 2009 to March 2010, in various places in Romania and with several characters. The trip itself is covered by the 800 images Mihai Barbu took. The budget was 2,000 Euro, Bogdan Ilie-Micu told FNE. He produced together with Mototol Film. Răzvan Tache and MDV Film supported the project.

A Dream's Merchant has its world premiere at Transylvania Film Festival (www.tiff.ro) in the Romanian Days section. "I hope it will be selected in some other festivals in the next two years, and then to go on TV and DVD," the director/producer told FNE.

Born in 1983, Ilie-Micu graduated Media University of Bucharest (www.universitateamedia.ro) in 2009. This is his first full-length film.
