PRODUCTION: Cătălin Mitulescu Shooting Rumeno

    BUCHAREST: Cătălin Mitulescu started shooting his third feature on 21 July 2014. Rumeno is a Romanian/Swedish/Italian coproduction which will be presented in the Venice Film Market.

    The story centers on a young couple meeting after one year of separation. Radu is returning to Bucharest after working for a year in Italy. He finds his wife Monica changed, and he has difficulties relating with his son who seems to have grown too fast.

    Mitulescu wrote the script. The main characters are played by Alexandru Potocean (The Paper Will Be Blue,  4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days) and Ada Condeescu (If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle,  Love Island). Alexandru Mărghidan is the DoP.

    The film is produced by Daniel Mitulescu through Strada Film in coproduction with Sweden's Film i Väst and The Chimney Pot, and Italy's Apapaja. The Romanian Film Center, the Romanian public television, Catena and Media Investment Communication are supporting the film.

    The budget is approximately 1.16mEUR, representatives of Strada Film told FNE. Rumeno received a production grant of 345,545 EUR / 1,520,400 RON from the Romanian Film Center in 2010. It is one of the 15 projects selected at the first edition of the European Gap Financing Coproduction Market in Venice Market, 29-30 August 2014.

    Shooting will wrap on 16 August, and the premiere set for the beginning of 2015.
