The film will be distributed by Supo Mungam, a new company focusing on titles from Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. "Our goal is for our titles to be seen not only by film lovers but by all kinds of audiences", Pedro Henrique Leite, the head of Supo Mungam, said in a statement.

Self-portrait of a Dutiful Daughter was recently awarded Best Film at Crossing Europe Linz and Best Director and Audience Award at the Bucharest International Film Festival. It was produced by Anca Puiu through Mandragora with the participation of Papillon Film, Castel Film and Cinelab România. Groupama Asigurări, BMW Group România, Vodafone Romania and HBO Romania were supporting the project.

The film will be distributed in Romanian cinemas by Mandragora starting on the 25 September 2015.
