CLUJ-NAPOCA: Five debut features and seven films made by second time directors are competing for the Transilvania Trophy at the 14th Transilvania IFF (29 May -7 June 2015).

The 12 titles come from countries including Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iceland, Great Britain, Mexico, Spain and the USA. Emotion, extreme tension and the surprising attempts of young filmmakers to revive genre cinema are the main ingredients of this year's Official Competition.

The only film from a CEE country is Bulgarian entry The Lesson / Urok by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov.

“This year, I favored intimate films and those productions that resort, in an intelligent and surprising manner, to the conventions of genre cinema. On one hand, emotion, and on the other, tension,"  the festival artistic director Mihai Chirilov said.
