According to a press release, the investment in a multiplex is usually around 4-5m EUR with the funding partially covered by Cinema City and commercial partners. The multiplex opened in Shopping City Deva has six fully digitalised screens with 1,087 seats.
New multiplexes will be opened in Drobeta-Turnu Severin (six screens in Severin Shopping Center) and Suceava (eight screens in Iulius Mall Shopping Center) in October 2015. Cinema City runs 20 multiplexes in 14 Romanian towns with 184 screens and 34,004 seats. Cinema City is part of Cineworld Group, the second cinema operator in Europe.
