France to Share its Expertise for New Romanian Cinema Law

By

BUCHAREST: The French CNC will share its know-how with the Romanian National Cinema Centre and the Romanian Ministry of Culture concerning the elaboration of a new Cinema Law, and a partnership between both CNCs will be signed during the Cannes Film Festival 2016.

Romanian minister of Culture Vlad Alexandrescu, who met Frédérique Bredin, the president of the French CNC and Christophe Tardieu, delegate general director of the French CNC yesterday in Paris, also discussed the opportunity of launching a common supporting fund for pre- and postproduction.

Both parties agreed that the partnership agreement between CNC Romania and CNC France should be outlined during Berlin Film Festival (11-21 February 2016) and signed during Cannes Film Festival (11-22 May 2016).

Alexandrescu, who was appointed in November 2015, said that cinema is one of the priorities of his mandate. “I wish that Romanian cinema should find stable new ground, predictable and transparent until mid-year”, he said on Facebook.
