BUCHAREST: Radu Muntean (One Floor Below) will start shooting his new feature film Alice T. at the beginning of August 2017. The film will be a Romanian/Swedish/French coproduction with the premiere set for 2018.
Alice is the failed project of a mother who, because she was unable to have a child of her own, adopted a charming little girl, who then turned into an impertinent and not very attractive teenager, a compulsive liar, who seems to be nothing more than an endless source of problems.
The script is penned by the same team who wrote the previous films directed by Muntean: Răzvan Rădulescu, Alexandru Baciu and Radu Muntean, while Muntean’s favorite DoP Tudor Lucaciu will lens.
Andra Guți and Mihaela Sîrbu (Everybody in Our Family, HiFilm) are to play the main characters.
The film is produced by Romania’s Multi Media Est in coproduction with Sweden’s Chimney and France’s Les Films de L'Apres Midi. The Romanian Film Centre, the Swedish regional film fund Film I Väst and MEDIA Creative Europe are supporting so far. The budget is 1.3 m EUR, Romanian producer Oana Iancu told FNE.
Shooting will last approximately 32 days. Negotiations with sales agents and local distributors are currently underway.
