Sunset focuses on the life cycles in a physical therapy resort in Montenegro and the repetitive physical action that takes place against the backdrop of the hotel’s exemplary architecture. The institute welcomes guests from all over the world and serves as a centre for healing and physical improvement, but its particular geopolitical location renders it a bridge between disparate worlds, people and ideas.

Jaćimović wrote the script together with Zachary Susskind, and he also lensed the film during the winter months of 2022 and 2023.

Belgrade-based Film House Baš Čelik is producing in coproduction with Montenegro’s Meander Film and Croatia’s Propeler Film. Jelena Mitrović and Vanja Kovačević are the producers of the film.

Film Center Serbia, the Film Centre of Montengro and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, as well as MEDIA Creative Europe and RE-Act, are supporting the project.

The film is expected to be completed by September 2024.

Miloš Jaćimović lensed some of the most successful Serbian arthouse features, including Nikola Ležaić‘s Tilva Rosh /Tilva Roš (2010, a coproduction between Serbian companies Kiselo Dete and Vision Team) and Oasis (2021) directed by Ivan Ikić and produced by Serbia’s SENSE Production in coproduction with Slovenia’s Tramal Films, the Netherlands’ Kepler Film, Bosnian SCCA / Pro.ba and France’s Les Films d’Antoine.
