LJUBLJANA: The 8th Animateka IFF, which kicks off 5 December 2011, puts films from Central and Eastern Europe on prominent display, with a CEE short animated film competition and a panorama of CEE films.
The festival also sponsors the AnimaWeb contest for very short computer animation films from young, aspiring animators from Central Europe.
The short competition consists of 33 films, with especially strong representation from Poland, Hungary, and Croatia. Slovenia and its ex-Yugoslav neighbors Croatia and Serbia are prominently represented in the Central and East European Panorama. The festival will be held in the Kinodvor art cinema and the Slovenian Cinematheque.
