A great finale for the EAVE 2014 Producers Workshop in Cologne

    The EAVE 2014 Producers Workshop comes to a close with its third and last workshop in Cologne, Germany (October 27November 3), organized in partnership with Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.

    During this final workshop, the 49 participants from 28 countries will meet 61 high-profile European film industry professionals in pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings and pitch the 28 projects that have been developed throughout the workshop year.

    In addition, the schedule offers plenary sessions, group work and individual meetings with EAVE experts and guests: Linda Beath (IT) - Strategic Planning for Production Companies, Sibylle Kurz (DE) - Pitching, Pierre Emmanuel Mouthuy (BE) – Legal Aspects of Distribution and Sales, Nikolaj Nikitin (DE) - Festival strategies and Jani Thiltges (LU) - Career Development. Management coach Michael Comyn (The Fearless Organisation, IE) will give an introduction to the art of negotiation and train the participants in group sessions. Independent producer and EAVE graduate Leila Lyytikäinen (Fisher King, FI) will share her experiences of developing and producing TV drama, using the successful TV series NYMPHS as a case study. Michel Reilhac (FR) will give a transmedia session about the current state of  digital technologies. A panel session with Linda Beath and Jean-Luc Ormières (FR) will address the question of the financial impact of digital distribution of European films. 

    EAVE is delighted to give local film-professionals an opportunity to get a taste of EAVE. They are welcome to attend the plenary sessions and the special "EAVE@Cologne" workshop with tailor-made sessions for local professionals. EAVE Chief Executive Kristina Trapp will open the programme. EAVE Head of Studies Jani Thiltges (Samsa Film, LU) will share his experinces of co-productions, EAVE Guest Expert Jan Naszewski (Film New Europe Sales, PL) will give an introduction to classic vs. alternative distribution, as well as to marketing and sales. EAVE Group Leader Lise Lense-Møller (Magic Hour Film, DK) will share her experience about co-producing and managing documentaries, and EAVE Group Leaders Roshanak Behesht Nedjad (Flying Moon Filmproduktion, DE) and Diana Elbaum (Entre chien et loup, BE) will tackle the topic of branding yourself as a producer.

    In the session “Producing and Co-producing in NRW and Germany” Helga Binder (Film- und Medienstiftung NRW) and Cornelia Hammelmann (FFA/German Federal Film Fund) will present the existing opportunities for producers to co-produce with Germany and the region of NRW.
