WARSAW: The European Parliament has adopted the new Creative Europe. The members of parliament voted 650 in favour, 32 against and there were 10 abstentions to approve the new programme which will be in effect from 2014-2020.

PRAGUE: The director of the Czech State Fund for Cinema Helena Fraňková is one of the front-running candidates for the post of Minister of Culture according to reports in the Czech press.

BRATISLAVA: Thirteen feature films received some 1m EUR in grants in the sixth round of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, along with over 600,000 EUR for documentary film production.

LJUBLJANA: Miele by Valeria Golino collected the main prize of the 24th Ljubljana Film Festival.

This year’s EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTION AWARD – Prix EURIMAGES, an award acknowledging the decisive role of co-productions in the European film industry, goes to Ada Solomon from Romania.

The annual EAVE Film Marketing Workshop – 4 intense days around innovative film marketing and how to find the audience for your film – takes place in Luxembourg, at hotel Novotel Luxembourg Centre during November 20-24, 2013, in partnership with Film Fund Luxembourg. We are delighted to welcome in the Grand Duchy 22 producers and industry professionals from 16 different countries.

Organized by the Ankara Cinema Association with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Festival on Wheels is gearing up to host film enthusiasts at its 19th edition, which runs from 27th November to 9th December 2013. The Festival will start out in Edremit on 27th November, before moving on to Ankara for more screenings between 29th November-5th December and travelling finally to Sinop from 6th-9th December. Screenings in Ankara will take place at the Kızılay Büyülü Fener Cinema, the Goethe Institut and the Contemporary Arts Centre (Çağdaş Sanatlar Merkezi).

WARSAW: The Polish Film Institute distributed nearly 70 grants for production, development and scholarships in the final round of 2013.
