Young Polish and German Directors Compete at Cottbus Featured

    COTTBUS: Six films are competing for a 1,500 EUR prize in the third U-18 German-Polish Youth Film Competition of new films from German and Poland as part of the Cottbus Film Festival (www.filmfestivalcottbus.de) running through 11 November 2012.

    The six medium- and full-length films deal with the issues of growing up on either side of the Oder River which divides Germany and Poland. The three Polish films are international or German premieres.

    The six competing films are:

    Average directed by Isabel Prahl (Germany)

    Amigos Forever directed by Sylwester Jakimow (Poland, www.studiomunka.pl)

    Being Like Deyna directed by Anna Wieczur Bluszcz (Poland, www.skorpionarte.pl)

    Shifting the Blame directed by Lars-Gunnar Lotz (Germany)

    Summer Outside directed by Friederike Jehn (Germany/Switzerland)
