Tallinn Industry Days boasts an unprecedented line-up of Asian and North American professionals

The top movers from Asian and American independent industry from producers to financiers, festivals and institutions are meeting up in Estonia this fall on 26-28 November to boost their cooperation across continents, Estonia and North Eastern Europe. Multinational hits, Asian project markets, potential of genre biz, and crowd funding are tackled in a two day meet with a unique finance and matching program with local startup and risk capital leaders.

Black Nights FF in its 16th edition has gained a reputation as a leading festival of the region and is this time attracting industry leaders on a never-before-seen global scale. Due to the unique geographical location of Estonia in the borders of Scandinavia, Western Europe and CIS, and last but not least - next to the shortest route from Asia and America’s to Europe via Helsinki, the Tallinn Black Nights FF is well on the way to become the meeting hub of Asian and North-American film professionals with their Northern-European, Scandinavian and CIS peers in the winter season. Following the success of the previous year’s edition, the Tallinn Black Nights Industry Days returns with even stronger focus on Asian-European-US networking, inspiring and real life based sessions and international producer matching program.

Tallinn Industry Days is proud to present distinguished speakers from Asia, Europe and North America such as Oh Jungwan (Korea, Come Rain Come Shine), Lorna Tee (Hong Kong-Malaysia, Postcards from Zoo), Yukie Kito (Japan, Tokyo Sonata), Steven Hoban (Canada, 338 Arletta Avenue), Peter van Steemburg (Magnolia Pictures) and others who will put the emphasis on benefits gained from real life experiences and case studies from award winning festival hits to multinational productions.

The event, organized in partnership with Estonian Film Cluster  and FilmEstonia will bring to the region the best Asian project markets and their leaders including Asian Project Market (Busan), Hong Kong Asia Film Finance Forum and UNIJAPAN to present and team them with new shooting and post-production opportunities managed by Estonian Film Commission.

New opportunities for funding are boosted by one of a kind film financing forum for Nordic startup and risk capital managers. Following the success of Estonia’s leading innovation - Skype - the region boasts an active startup culture bridging Baltics and Scandinavia with Silicon Valley. The Industry Days aims to bring closer the two sectors by a specialized finance forum matching industry tops with regional startup leaders for funding and development possibilities. Trendy crowd funding is being presented by Klok Agency that raised dazzling 1 million EUR for the year’s genre hit “Iron Sky”. The Industry Days 2012 will be held from 26 to 28 November in Nordic Hotel Forum simultaneously with the Baltic Event (B’EAST) regional co-production market.
