KARLOVY VARY: Czech director Jiri Stejskal is in postproduction with the documentary film My Farm is My Castle.

The film is produced by Emerging Producer Pavla Kubeckova and Producer on the Move Tomas Hruby, both of nutprodukce. The documentary was presented in Docu Talents from the East at Karlovy Vary IFF.

Kubeckova said the film completed a five-year shooting period in September 2013. The producers are in the process of seeking festival screenings. The film will be completed in August 2014.

The documentary tells the story of a small farm owner in Ukraine who refused to leave as developers built a new Kiev high rise complex in what used to be her small village. At the end of the filming process, the farm was burnt down.

The 70,000 EUR budget was funded by the Czech State Cinematography Fund with 15,000 EUR and Czech TV with 15,000 EUR. The remainder of the budget is being covered by pre-sales, other film funding, and private funding.
