FNE at KVIFF 2016: Jean Reno Shooting Adventurers in Karlovy Vary

    KARLOVY VARY: Jean Reno, currently a guest of Karlovy Vary IFF, will stay in the Czech Republic after visiting the festival to play a role of a French policeman in the new Hong Kong adventure film Adventurers directed by Stephen Fung.

    The shooting in the Czech Republic will go into September, for a total of 13 weeks. The locations include Prague studios, Prague and surrounding areas, Karlovy Vary, Lednice and Bouzov. According to the State Cinematography Fund, the estimated Czech spent will be 200 m CZK (7, 4 m EUR). The Czech coproducer is Milk & Honey Pictures.

    The film photographed by Shane Hurlbut has a star cast which includes Andy Lau, whose filmography contains 160 films, and the Taiwanese actress Qi Shu. The second DoP is a Czech, Milan Chadima.

    Jean Reno is returning to the Czech Republic after a year. Last May he played in the third sequel to the cult comedy Visitors which was also shot in the Czech Republic.
