PLZEŇ: Little Crusader / Křižáček by Václav Kadrnka will screen at the 31st edition of Finále Plzeň Film Festival. The most important Czech national film festival, presenting contemporary Czech and Slovak audiovisual production, will be held from 19 to 24 April 2018. This Czech/Slovak/Italian coproduction was awarded the Crystal Globe at the 52nd KVIFF and best director at the Czech Critics‘ Awards.

The film is a medieval road movie following the knight Bořek, who starts searching for his missing son. Little Jan ran away from home, rushing after an illusion about the holy mission of children. His aging father searches for him in every possible way, but arrives everywhere too late, finding only witnesses who have seen the boy. Gradually his image of the boy starts to crumble and the landscape he travels through resembles more and more his own state of mind.

The film stars Karel Roden as the knight Bořek.

Little Crusader was produced by Sirius Films and coproduced by Slovakia‘s ARTILERIA , Česká televize , innogyBarrandov Studio and i/o post from the Czech Republic and Italy‘s Tempesta Film. The Czech Film FundFilm Foundation of Czech TelevisionRWE and Eurimages supported  the project.
