KARLOVY VARY: Paweł Maślona’s black comedy Panic Attack, which is currently competing in Karlovy Vary’s main competition, was sold by New Europe Film Sales to Greece (Neo), Lithuania (Kino Pavasaris), Iceland (Bio Paradis) and Central and Eastern Europe (HBO Central Europe).
Further deals, including the UK, are under negotiation. The film also attracts producers looking to remake it for their local markets, according to a press release.
Panic Attack has been a box office hit in Poland this year. It was produced by Akson Studio and it was supported by the Polish Film Institute.
New Europe Film Sales also presents in Karlovy Vary Ivan Tverdovsky’s political drama Jumpman in the main competition and two Sundace favorites, Pity by Babis Makridis and Loveling by Gustavo Pizzi in the side sections.
