PRAGUE: Beta Cinema sold the eight-part original drama series Wasteland / Pustina produced for the Czech branch of HBO Europe to Deutsche Telekom's Magenta TV.
Deutsche Telekom plans to boost European series on Telekom’s Magenta TV, which was launched in October 2018.
Wasteland was produced by Nutprodukce and Etamp, and was supported by the Czech Film Fund. The first two episodes premiered at the 2018 Karlovy Vary IFF.
This psychological drama was written by Štěpán Hulík, writer of another HBO miniseries, the acclaimed Burning Bush directed by Agnieszka Holland. The direction of Wasteland was shared between Ivan Zachariáš, an internationally award-winning Czech commercials' director, and Alice Nellis.
