Zlin fest gets status boost

By FNE staff
The 49th Zlin International Film Festival for Children and Youth (May 31-June 7) has been selected as an official cultural event as part of the upcoming Czech Republic's EU presidency.

The designation also covers the festival's popular "clapperboard mini-salon" with it's accompanying auction.

The Zlin festival (www.zlinfest.cz), the oldest children's film festival in the world, also announced the addition of a new festival benefactor Synot Typ. Allianz Insurance will continue to support the festival as the main partner. The 2009 festival will spotlight Spanish cinema.
