Walking Too Fast Leads Czech Lion Nominations

    The psychological thriller Pouta (Walking Too Fast) by director Radim Špaček, screenwriter Ondřej Štindl and producer Vratislav Šlajer and his company Bionaut films (www.bionaut.cz) leads the list of nominations for the annual Czech Lion (www.ceskylev.cz) film awards nomination list with a record 12 nominations, including the main categories best film, best director and best original screenplay. The nominations were announced by the Czech Film and Television Academy (www.cfta.cz).

    Actors Ondřej Malý, Kristina Farkašová, Barbora Milotová, Oldřich Kaiser and Lukáš Lastinák, all members of the cast of Walking Too Fast, also received nominations.

    Identity Card (Občanský průkaz) directed by Ondřej Trojan and produced by his company Total Help Art (www.tha.cz) and distribution company Falcon (www.falcon.cz) followed with 10 nomination. Kuky Returns by director Jan Svěrák and The Greatest of Czechs directed by Robert Sedláček each received seven nominations including best film.

    Actor Vladimír Dlouhý, who died in June 2010 at the age of 52, could win a Czech Lion in memoriam for the best supporting character in director Petr Jákl´s thriller and box office hit Kajínek. Other actors nominated for awards include interational stars Anna Geislerová and Karel Roden.

    The Czech Lion ceremony takes place in Prague's Lucerna Palace on Saturday, 5 March 2011, hosted by actor Jan Budař.
