VALLETTA: Europe's smallest capital is hosting its first film festival this year. The Valletta Film Festival will run from 15 to 21 June 2015.
It will take place in various venues throughout the capital including historic venues such as the St James Cavalier Cinema and the Embassy Cinema. The festival aims to become a leading cultural event in Malta and a prominent film festival in the Mediterranean.
The festival will present five sections, including an official competitive section split into three categories: feature films, documentaries and short films. Another competitive section, the Islanders, will only be open to films from or about islands. The main supporters of the festival are Kinemastik, Pellikola Ltd., and the Malta Arts Fund.
