Polish Pay-TV Market Near Saturation

    WARSAW:Poland has reached 74% penetration of the pay TV market, according to a report in the Warsaw Voice. Analysts estimate that only just over 500,000 new customers are yet to be tapped for the satellite TV market.

    As many as 1 million new customers by the end of 2013 are predicted for the satellite, cable and IPTV markets altogether.


    Poland has seen a surge of new channels in the past five years, with Polish public broadcaster TVP (www.tvp.pl ) increasing its output from 2 channels to 9 currently. HDTV also received a boost with the recent launch of five new Polish channels.
