PRODUCTION: TVP in Production with Just My Luck

    WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster TVP is moving into production with a family series, Just My Luck. The show is based on an original Polish script and will replace family.pl, a Canadian licensed series produced by TVP.

    "The characters of the show will create a ‘patchwork family.' Both of the parents are people experienced by life, who left behind bad relationships but have wonderful children. Now they are trying to join it all together," said Dorota Kośmicka-Gacke, the producer of the series.

    Ja to mam szczęście (Just My Luck) is the idea of a Polish screen-writing due Karol Klementewicz and Kuba Wescile, who both worked on the Polish adaptation of family.pl. Shooting will begin by the end 2012, once TVP completes the casing. The director of Just My Luck is Sylwester Jakimow.

    The lead characters of Joanna and Jerzy will be played by film and theater actors Kinga Preis and Jacek Braciak. They will be raising three children: Joanna's daughter from her first marriage, Jerzy's son from his previous relationship and their joint daughter Zosia. Antoni Królikowski to play the son and the producers are currently holding castings for the parts of two young girls. The cast of the show will also include several popular Polish actors including Gabriela Muskała, Przemysław Sadowski, Anna Seniuk, Zdzisław Wardejn and Ewa Kasprzyk.

    The series is produced independently by TVP (www.tvp.pl) and will be aired on the TVP2 channel in 2012.
