Strong Debut in Poland for Carnage

    WARSAW: Roman Polanski's Carnage bowed in Poland with an opening week-end box office of $436,612.

    The film had a per-copy average of just over $4,000.

    Carnage was coproduced by Piotr Reischa and SPI Film Studio (www.spi.pl) and is distributed by SPI International.

    The film based on the play God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza opened in the U.S. with just under $86,000 for its first weekend.
