Disney Ends Polish Distribution Agreement

By

WARSAW: The Walt Disney Company Poland (www.disney.pl) will end its distribution agreement with Forum Film Poland (www.forumfilm.pl) as of 1 October 2012.

Forum Film Poland, a subsidiary of Cinema City International (www.cinemacity.nl), has been the exclusive distributor for Disney in Poland for the past nine years. Disney will now handle its own distribution in Poland.

In a statement, Disney said that Poland had become a major market that warranted self-distribution.

Cinema City noted in a statement that it did not expect the change to have an impact on its company results. The announcement was made after the close of trading in Europe, where the share price had dropped by 0.72 percent to 27.6 PLN, its lowest level in nearly two months.
