Ida Scores Double Wins

    Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida has won the Grand Prix of the Plus Camerimage film festival and the Best Film of Spain’s Gijon film festival.

    The film previously won the FIPRESCI Prize at Toronto as well as prizes at festivals in Gdynia, Warsaw, and London.

    Camerimage gave Sławomir Idziak a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award for Directing went to Jim Sheridan. Cinematographer - Director Duo Award went to Marc Forster and Roberto Schaefer, and Joan Churchill was awarded for Outstanding Achievements in Documentary Filmmaking. Other individual awards included a Special Award for Actor-Director going to John Turturro. Award for Production Designer with Unique Visual Sensivity to Rick Carter, the Award for Editor with Unique Visual Sensivity to Joel Cox, and the Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Music Videos to Samuel Bayer.

    Camerimage is a film festival dedicated to the art of the cinematographer.
