Cinema City Signs Lease in Lublin

    Cinema City, the leading exhibitor in Central Europe, has signed a lease agreement for a nine-screen cinema in Lublin, Poland.

    The multiplex located in the Atrium Felicity shopping center will have nine screens and will be fully digital with 3D projection equipment. When it opens in July 2014, it will be the Company’s third multiplex in Lublin.

    Cinema City operates an eight screen successful multiplex in Lublin Plaza shopping mall in the city center. In August 2013 the Cinema City signed a lease agreement with the Lublin IKEA Center Polska for a nine screen multiplex planned for the next year.

    Cinema City is a leader of the cinema market in Poland. It operates 339 screens in 31 multiplexes including 5 IMAX theatres and the first 4DX auditorium in Warsaw. The company has signed nine lease agreements for future multiplexes with almost 100 screens and is considering other locations in Poland.

    In January 2014 Cinema City and Cineworld signed an agreement to combine their cinema businesses. The merger will create the second largest cinema operator in Europe with 201 cinemas and 1,852 screens. The closing of the agreement is expected in the beginning of March 2014.
