WARSAW: Kinga Dębska’s new comedy/drama These Daughters of Mine had 350,000 admissions in its first ten days, a very strong result for Poland.

The film was released by Kino Świat on 8 January 2016, selling over 130,000 tickets during the first weekend, more than Star Wars: The Force Awakens in its opening weekend.

The film, exploring the complicated relationship between two sisters and their father, stars Agata Kulesza, Gabriela Muskała and Marian Dziędziel. The film was produced by Kalejdoskop Film Studio in coproduction with WFDiF. It was supported by the Polish Film Institute.

In 2015 the comedy Letters to Santa 2 by Maciej Dejczer, produced by TVN, had the best opening weekend for a Polish film in 30 years with 655,000 admissions.
