Record Bid for Jacek Bromski’s New Film

    WARSAW: An anonymous bidder paid 2,962 EUR / 13,000 PLN at a charity auction in order to be an extra in the new film by Jacek Bromski. Roman Polański's Bitter Moon held the previous record.

    The auction organized by the Polish Filmmakers Association was part of the 24th edition of The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, one of the biggest non-profit charity organizations in Poland. The previous record for a small part auctioned in a Polish film was 2,893 EUR /12, 700 PLN for Roman Polański's Bitter Moon (1992, Les Films Alain Sarde).

    According to the Polish Filmmakers Association the winner will also meet the director and crew, visit the set with his own guide and receive a surprise gift connected with Polish cinema. Bromski’s project, which starts shooting in May 2016, is still secret, but rumors spread that it will be one of the biggest productions in 2016.

    Bromski's latest film Anathomy of Evil (Jacek Bromski Produkcja Filmowa, Telewizja Polska – Agencja Produkcji Telewizyjnej i Filmowej - TVP, Pomerania Film) was released in Poland by Kino Świat on 18 September 2015, and sold over 34,000 tickets to date.
