Poland's TVN for Sale

By FNE Staff

WARSAW: Polish media reports that a controlling interest in commercial TV station TVN is for sale. Majority stakeholder ITI Group announced that it had hired bankers to field interested buyers.

The share in the station could bring in over PLN 3 billion, or nearly 800 million euros.

TVN was launched in 1997 by founders Mariusz Walters and Jan Weychert, who died last year, leading to the announcement of the sale. Several large foreign entertainment and media companies are among those said to be interested in TVN.
