New Head’s for Creative Europe MEDIA and EU CULT Committee

WARSAW: Lucia Recalde Langarica has been announced as the new head of the Creative Europe MEDIA programme. She succeeds Xavier Troussard who stepped down at the end of June. She will take up her post on 1 September 2014.

LuciaRecaldeLangarica Previously Recalde Langarica was head of unit for Higher Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at DG EAC. She has worked at the European Commission since 1995.

In another change of leadership Italian MEP Silvia Costa has become the Chair of the EU Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education (CULT). She succeeds Doris Pack who headed the committee for many years.

Costa was the rapporteur for the Creative Europe programme and was responsible for drafting the committee’s report on the new programme. She is a long-time member of CULT serving together with Ms Pack for many years.
