Thirteen Films Head to Connecting Cottbus 2014

    COTTBUS: Two film projects from Hungary, along with films from Estonia, Georgia, Poland, and Romania, are among the thirteen films that made the cut for the coveted pitching slots at Connecting Cottbus, taking place 6-7 November, 2014.

    Some of the region’s top producers will make their way to eastern Germany’s Sorbian capital in search of coproducers. Hungary’s Andras Muhi from Inforg-M&M Film teams up with writer/director Cecilia Felmeri on Spiral. The second Hungarian project will be A Coat of Gold from producer Dora Nedeczky of Mindwax and writer/director Cristina Grosan.

    Romanian triple threat Anca Damian acting as producer/writer/director of In Perfect Health will present her Aparte Film project producer Roxana Garet and co-writer Lia Bugnar.

    Lukasz Dzieciol and Michal Gozdzik of Poland’s Opus Film and Teamwork Production will present Owl, The Baker’s Daughter by writer/director Grzegorz Jarzyna.

    Tamara Tatishvili returns to Cottbus, this time as a producer with Georgia’s Ablabuda Film on The Button written by Nugzar Metreveli and directed by Alexander Kviria, along with producers Suliko Tsulukidze and Ketie Danelia.

    Estonia partners with Russia on Anton Blizho’s The Dreamfish for Marx Film and produced by Max Tuula and Maria Gavrilova.
