Eurimages Funds Eight CEE Coproductions

    STRASBOURG: Eurimages decided support for 15 coproductions including the new films of Cristi Puiu, Kristijonas Vildziunas, Ralitza Petrova, Teona Strugar Mitevska, Emin Alper and Ümit Köreken at its 137th meeting held in Turin in December 2014,

    A total of 4,033,000 EUR was allotted to the production of 13 features and two documentaries. The eight CEE coproductions that received funding are majority and minority coproductions. Majority CEE coproductions are: Ermin Alper's Turkish/French coproduction Frenzy/Kadir ve Kardesleri (150,000 EUR), Kristijonas Vildziunas's Lithuanian/Estonian/Latvian coproduction Seneca's Day/Senekos Diena (220, 000 EUR), Ümit Köreken's French/German coproduction Blue Bicycle/Mavi Bisiklet (158, 000 EUR) Cristi Puiu's Romanian/French/Croatian/ Bosnian/Macedonian coproduction Sierra Nevada (200,000 EUR), Teona Strugar Mitevska's Macedonian/Belgian coproduction When the Day Had No Name (180,000 EUR), and Ralitza Petrova's Bulgarian/French coproduction Godless/Bezbog (150,000 EUR).

    Two minority CEE coproductions received support, Kebab Royal (http://www.kebabroyal.com/) by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, a Belgian/Bulgarian coproduction, received 185, 000 EUR, and Les Innocentes by Anne Fontaine, a French/ Polish coproduction, received 480, 000 EUR.

    The Austrian/Luxembourg coproduction Egon Schiele-Death and the Maiden by Dieter Berner received 410, 000 EUR and the Austrian minority coproduction The Bloom of Yesterday/Die Blumen von Gestern by the German Chris Kraus received 450, 000 EUR.
