FERA Publish Five Point Plan on Single Digital Market

By

BRUSSELS: The Federation of European Film Directors (FERA), which represents film and television directors from 29 countries across Europe, is publishing a five point plan aimed at highlighting the important position of film directors in the European audiovisual sector.

During the European Commissions's review of EU Copyright rules in the completion of the Digital Single Market, the FERA want to make sure their rights and status are protected.

Welcoming the Commission’s proposal to build a Digital Single Market, FERA Chair Swedish Director Håkan Bjerking commented: "The digital era offers a lot opportunities for our work – but only if audiovisual authors and directors’ creativity is properly valued. Today we are calling for a sea change in the rights and status of directors, so that the value chain is rebalanced towards authors and creators.”
