FNE at Cannes 2016: RE-ACT Unveils Its Second Edition Participants

    CANNES: The Croatian Audiovisual Centre, FVG Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre have announced the participants of the 2nd RE-ACT Workshop, an innovative co-development and training initiative launched by the three film funds in 2015.

    The projects selected are feature-length projects (both fiction and documentary) that thematically link the territories of three partner countries/regions and have a clear coproduction potential.

    Representatives of Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre announced today in Cannes the participants of the 2nd RE-ACT workshop that will take place in Isola, Slovenia, from 2-5 June 2016.

    RE-ACT's workshops take place place every year from 2015 till 2017 alongside the TorinoFilmLab international FrameWork programme, giving at least six creative teams from FVG, Slovenia and Croatia an opportunity to develop their projects in individual meetings with TFL and RE-ACT experts/tutors, to work in group sessions and participate in FrameWork’s plenary sessions, and to take part in a tailor-made networking platform and present their projects to possible co-producing partners and film funds’ representatives.

    After the successful 1st RE-ACT Workshop held last July in Motovun, Croatia, once again this year the chosen creative teams will be working on their projects under group leader Stefano Tealdi, documentary tutor Rada Šešić, producing tutor Danijel Hočevar, as well as various TorinoFilmLab experts.

    Out of 16 projects sumbitted for the second RE-ACT Workshop, the following seven were selected:

    4. The Angel in the Wall, writers: Lorenzo Bianchini & Fabrizio Bozzetti; director: Lorenzo Bianchini, producers: Samantha Faccio & Thomas Bertacche (Tucker Film), Italy, fiction
    5. Don't Forget to Breathe, writers: Martin Turk & Gorazd Trušnovec, director: Martin Turk, producer: Ida Weiss (Bela Film), Slovenia, fiction
    6. No Place Like Home, writer/director: Jurij Gruden, producer: Tanja Gruden (AVI Film), Slovenia, documentary
    7. Wake Me Up, writers: Marko Šantić & Goran Vojnović, director: Marko Šantić, producers: Zala Opara & Danijel Hočevar (Vertigo), Slovenia, fiction

    Also, representatives of RE-ACT announced that call for entries for the second round of RE-ACT Co-development funding will open in September 2016. The co-development funding scheme is intended for filmmakers and producers who wish to co-develop feature length films (fiction, documentary, animation and experimental), as well as animation shorts that already have development support from at least one of the member funds already in place and at least two countries/producers from the member countries.

    RE-ACT (Regional Audiovisual Cooperation and Training) is a transregional initiative set by Croatian Audiovisual Centre, FVG Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre and launched in 2015.
