Alex, a champion turned coach after a knee injury, falls in love with his first student, Anda. Mircea, Anda’s lover, who is also a fencer at the same club, witnesses the bond between them growing and becomes jealous. Anda has to choose between fencing and Mircea.
It Takes Two to Fence/Planşa is produced by Dan Chişu through DaKINO Productions and Gheorghe Andrei through Diud Film. They financed the production with approximately 60,000 EUR, but 25,000 EUR is still needed for colorisation, sound mix, DCP and launching.
"This is a completely independent production with no involvement from the National Centre for Cinema or any television channel. In order to close the financing we tried to get a product placement,” Andrei told FNE.
Bogdan Ivaşcu wrote the script. Andrei is the DoP. The cast includes Olimpia Melinte (Seven Acts of Mercy), Silvian Vâlcu, Marian Adochiţei and Gheorghe Horia. The film is set to have the premiere in autumn 2013.
