A study of the human longing for contact, with three women and two men fighting solitude and searching for intimacy, Touch Me Not/Nu mă atinge-mă started development in 2010. Adina Pintilie wrote the script and Marius Iacob will be the DoP. The cast is not yet confirmed.

The film is produced by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan through Romania’s 4 Proof Film and Manekino Film, the company of Pintilie and Iacob, in coproduction with Germany’s RohFilm and France’s Unlimited LTD.

The budget is 890,000 EUR, Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan told FNE. The project received production support from the Romanian Film Center, MDM (Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung) Germany, Torino Film Lab and Strasbourg Urban Community. It also received an ARTE award and MEDIA development support and was selected in: Atelier Cinefondation of Cannes Film Festival 2012, Cinemart 2011, Binger FilmLab and Torino Film Lab.

The premiere is set for 2016. Negotiations with sales agents are in progress.
