Romania Sees Big Drop in Film Piracy

By

BUCHAREST: Film and music piracy has seen a major reduction in Romania over the past five years due to the availability of cheaper legal audiovisual products and affordable applications.

According to www.romania-insider.com, quoting news agency Agerpres, the number of irregularities found by the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA) dropped from 344 in 2012 to 113 in 2016.

Razvan Casmoiu, manager within the ORDA, told Agerpres that music and film piracy continues at the moment not because of the price, but mostly due to the consumers’ habits.
