GOEAST FILM FESTIVAL PRESS ACCREDITATION 2013

goEast - Festival of Central and Eastern European Film is offering free accreditation to members of the reporting press. We cordially invite you to attend the 13th edition of goEast festival in Wiesbaden from 10 to 16 April, and we would be delighted if your medium was to grant coverage to the festival.

Please find attached our accreditation form, which we would ask you to complete and return by 28th of March.

The goEast Competition keeps a finger on the pulse. Ten feature films and six documentaries - all of them remarkable, original and engaged - will compete for valuable prizes. The 13th edition of goEast, inspired by the term „Striking 13!", is bristling with adolescent tension and refusal to conform, bursting with utopian dreams and bids for freedom. The festival Homage celebrates a peerless nonconformist of world cinema by showing the work of Hungarian director Miklós Jancsó. The 2013 goEast Symposium re-visits the enfants terribles of Yugoslav film in the 1960s and '70s - the "Black Wave" that caused the disapproving establishment patriarchs sleepless nights. The Highlights section is magnetically drawn to genre films steeped in blood-curdling horror and coal-black humour. Beyond Belonging strides onto controversial terrain once more, declaring it's time for a "Gender Check!" of prevailing attitudes and the roles of the sexes in Eastern Europe.

In the goEast Students' Competition upcoming directors take the centre stage. This year, entries have been invited from Budapest, Pristina, Munich and the film schools in Hessen. The Robert Bosch Stiftung bestows the Film Prize for International Cooperation and, for the seventh time at the goEast Festival, supports ambitious projects in the categories animation film, documentary and short feature. The various sections of goEast will be rounded off with Q&A sessions, discussion panels, film talks and last but not least exceptional parties: goEast provides various inspiring opportunities for a vivid exchange among international guests, film makers and festival visitors!

I will inform you in detail about this year's festival programme during the next weeks and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

    Yours sincerely,
    Cornelia Reichel
